You want to know how animated films are created and how to revive a drawing or an object with the help of a camera? In this two-day stop animation workshop you will learn how to turn static images and objects into movement and tell your own story through film.
Through practical work, participants will go through the whole process of creating animation, from first sketches and planning of shots, character making and set design, to shooting a short film. The first day is dedicated to familiarizing with the basics of animation, movement rhythm and optical illusions such as the zotrope, while the second day will be devoted to shooting and creating a joint animated film.
The workshop is intended for students of the upper grades of elementary school and high school students who want to explore the world of film, movement and visual storytelling. No previous experience is necessary - there is little imagination and will to create!
The workshop is led by Dea Jagić, animator, director and illustrator, author of Four (2025), Shadows (2021), Past Grows (2018), Awake Me (2015), and is organized by the Creative Union production studio.
The workshop is free, but the number of seats is limited!
Applications are mandatory, secure your place on time and create your first animated film.
