Pula Youth Centre and SIKD launch cycle of workshops on labour rights

YOUNG PEOPLE ARE ENCOURAGED TO ENTER THE LABOUR MARKET SAFELY.

In order to prepare young people for a successful and safe entry into the world of work, Pula Youth CentreIn collaboration with Union of Istria, Kvarner and Dalmatia (SIKD), organizes, in Pula Youth Centre, a cycle of educational workshops called “Empowering young people in the labour market through education on labour rights and social dialogue”.

The holder and implementer of all activities is SIKD, and the program includes three thematic workshops that will be held in autumn terms:

  1. Social dialogue, the role of trade unions and collective agreements in practice Wednesday, 30 September 2026 from 13:30 to 14:15
  2. Understanding different employment contracts and basic terms of employment Friday, 30 October 2026 from 13:30 to 14:15
  3. Protection of workers’ rights and procedures in case of breach of work obligation Friday, 27 November 2026 from 13:30 to 14:15

Interactive approach and real-life simulations
The workshops are fully adapted to young people and designed as interactive platforms. Instead of a dry theory, the program is based on concrete examples from practice and simulations of typical situations that a young person encounters during employment and during work. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, discuss realistic scenarios from the working environment and get direct advice from experts.

Permanent guide to labour rights in print and digital form
Special information brochures are also provided for all participants. They provide a summary of key information processed during the lectures and will serve as a permanent practical guide to labour rights. In addition to the printed edition on the workshops themselves, the brochure will be permanently available in digital form on the official website of Pula Youth Centre and the Trade Unions of Istria, Kvarner and Dalmatia.

This cycle aims to educate young people about their legal rights and obligations in a timely and adequate manner, so that they can enter the labour market confidently, protected and informedly.

All workshops are free of charge. All interested young people, students, job seekers and those who have just stepped into the employment relationship are invited to join and secure their place.
